One of the last remaining old style hotels, The Northern Hotel is located in the heart of Byron Bay's vibrant town centre. *Note the tiling is the same as The Builders Arms, Fitzroy. I go here to punt on the racehorses and watch the Collingwood Football Club on the telly! Go Pies!
Officially opened by a Tassy Politician in 1854 with luminaries such as Squizzy Taylor knocking the froth off a few at the launch party, The Grace Darling is also famous for being the birthplace of the Collingwood Football Club on February 12 1892 when it was declared that "The very name of Collingwood would strike terror into the hearts of opposing players". Melbourne’s second oldest pub was given a good clean up in 2010 by the four owners pictured.
The Builders Arms Hotel, Gertrude Street, Fitzroy. Beautiful food, different menu for dining in the Bistro or in the Public Bar. Also the restaurant Moon Under Water for refined dining. Another Andrew McConnell success!
