Profile: Gretal Ferguson

Current Sydney Institute Jewellery + Object Design Student Profile. Gretal was a finalist in 2012's 'Jewellery Inspired by the Powerhouse Collection' competition, Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, Sydney. She won the Jewellery and Object category as well as overall Graduate of the Year (GOTY) in the 2013 NSW/ACT branch of the Design Institute of Australia GOTY Award. Gretal went on to achieve 2nd place in the Australasian GOTYA Jewellery & Object category, 2014.

Current student Gretal Ferguson successfully completed a Degree in Music + spent several years traveling in China & NZ before returning to Australia. Unsure she could commit after traveling for so long, Gretal enrolled in the shortest Jewellery + Object Design course available at Design Centre Enmore and within months realised there was no looking back - it was what she wanted to do with her life. What led you to this course of study? I’ve always loved making things and even interviewed for jewellery and object courses straight out of high school, but chose to study music instead.
