DOW rec'd at Polygon Wood, Third Battle of Ypres on 20.9.1917, whilst serving with 7th Bn, 2nd Bgde, 1st Australian Division. He is buried at Lijssenthoek Miltiary Cemetery, Poperinghe - Plot XIX C.5.
