The word types are: verbs, nouns, pronouns, adverbs, adjectives, prepositions, interjections, and conjunctions. Words have roots, which give them their basic meaning. Yet, there are ways to tweak those words to give them new meanings - by adding prefixes and suffixes.
Prepositions can be very confusing for English Language Learners to understand a simple chart like this could be displayed in a prominent place in the classroom and used as a resource not only for ELLs but for the whole class.
