Pacific House | RESIDENTIAL
"The room is formally quite simple, monolithic and only a bit decorative. It's a moment of modernity with a touch of the feminine." says our Associate Shelby Griffiths. Often conceived as the gem of a home, the place where you can be a little more daring or decorative. The concept was no different in Pacific House, originally a pink marble, our clients visited @artedomus and fell in love with the scattered warm veining and vibrant emerald green of the Smeraldo polished quartzite.
Pacific House | RESIDENTIAL
Pacific House | RESIDENTIAL | The combined brass finishes of @astrawalkerofficial tapware, @snellingstudio Arch Wall Light and @spectrumartglass custom mirror in the powder room at Pacific House are reflected in the warm veining of the @artedomus Smeraldo polished quartzite vanity and sink. All of which is offset by this soft, grey proyalbi Portuguese plaster. See more of our projects at https://alexanderand.co/projects/
Tamarama Hill House | RESIDENTIAL
PRACTICE NOTES | Tamarama Hill House | "The difficulty of working within a constrained mansard roof volume precipitated this wonderful shaped ceiling, explains our Principal Jeremy Bull. The dual curve of the walls and ceiling above the bath in polished plaster make this baths throne with a view toward the beach at Tamarama."
NoMad | RESIDENTIAL
NoMad | RESIDENTIAL | Est Living Features Writer Holly Beadle says of the apartment space, "spacious volumes and expressive shapes render it a private gallery, encouraging anyone who visits to treat it as such. The theme which underpins the interiors is that of wandering – through the spaces and one’s thoughts."
Oak House | RESIDENTIAL
IN FOCUS | Oak House | The dark honed Nero Marquina marble splashback and vanity from @dilorenzo_tiles and contrasting wall panelling detail create a timeless design. Framed by a custom-designed, burnished brass and glass door, the shower space cavity allows for plenty of natural light to filter through into the bathroom. Discover more via https://alexanderand.co
Tamarama Hill House | RESIDENTIAL
Tamarama Hill House | RESIDENTIAL | A bathtub with a view to the ocean is contained under the angled soffit of this mansard roof, notes our Principal Jeremy Bull. We added a steel framed pivot door which could create some privacy when needed, but it otherwise remains open connecting the ensuite bathroom and master bedroom. Discover more online.
The A&CO. Workshop | RESIDENTIAL
The A&CO. Workshop | RESIDENTIAL | MEDIA | We loved the recent feature of our Workshop in Habitus Living written by Assistant Editor Saskia Neacsu, "Drawing on precedents including potting sheds and the casual order of English gardens, the team opted for an “undone, stripped state” that bolsters play. Here, design happens in real time: chairs are tested, prototypes accumulate and collaborations with craftspeople naturally evolve."
Pacific House | RESIDENTIAL
Pacific House | RESIDENTIAL | The master ensuite of Pacific House is a play of grey - tonally simple but materially complex. The palette combines @BisannaTiles Bianco honed mosaic floor tiles with @surfacegallerya terrazzo slab wet area walls and @artedomusAU Carrara white marble skirting and vanity.
Queens Park House | RESIDENTIAL
Queens Park House | RESIDENTIAL | Clever use of proportion and scale allow this wash basin to sit neatly tucked away between built-in cabinetry. Small but still luxurious; the contemporary burnished brass tapware and rendered concrete finish offer a modern aesthetic. Alexander House | RESIDENTIAL
IN FOCUS | Alexander House | The painterly application of these dark walls by one of our favourite colourists @ludibragainterior gives this space a luxurious and nocturnal feeling. The dramatic @worldstone_australia marble and Shigura Ban chair all combine to create a restful retreat. See more of this space via https://alexanderand.co/projects/
Tamarama Hill House | RESIDENTIAL
Tamarama Hill House | RESIDENTIAL | It is often that secondary bathrooms within a home lack the novelty of master ensuites or powder rooms. Given the enormous cost of wet areas, seeking the ‘novel’ within these rooms can be quite challenging, and small details come to matter most. In this Tamarama house, simply modifying the floor grout dimension differentiates its language from the rest of the house in a simple but striking way.
