Manly Wharf Bar and Tropic Restaurant is the reimagining of the eponymous venue which has held the Eastern corner of the jetty for the past 15 years. The space is a worn back, worn away, and reclaimed coastal rumpus room. It feels part urban loft story, part sexy surfer. A mid century warehouse above water, an integration of the Manly CBD with the slightest touch of residential DNA.

Manly Wharf Bar | HOSPITALITY
The reimagining of Manly Wharf Bar is a decluttering of an iconic jetty venue, where thematic layers were dismantled to reveal a new brand with replanned the bar and kitchen experiences. Inspired by its sister venue The Burleigh Pavilion on the Gold Coast, this renovation saw a new coastal rumpus room identity infused into spatial replanning within the same tenancy envelope. Restaurants and private dining are now orientated around the central bars and a pizza-equipped kitchen.

This prime position in the floor plan frames stunning harbour views through awning hung steel-framed windows. Manly Wharf Bar | HOSPITALITY | Manly Wharf Hotel instils a light and bright aesthetic that is elegant yet simple with keen attention to detail through colour and innovative materials. The concrete cast table shown here was custom-designed alongside the talented team Re Studio Collective and informs part of their Remnant series of recycled furniture which resulted from experimentation with honing leftover landscaping stones and marble waste.

Manly Wharf Bar | HOSPITALITY | Reflecting on the seating design in this part of the Manly Wharf Bar Principal Jeremy Bull writes, "The rear banquette is constructed from painted concrete blocks with a gently tessellated pattern, and topped with leather upholstery and a hardwood timber ledge. ⁠The side elevation of the banquette is a half block cantilever which casts a lovely simple shadow over the burnished concrete slab. It defies its mass and solidity."⁠
