New recipe! Easy Apple and Hazelnut Frangipane Tarts. These are quick to make and use only a little rice malt syrup as a sweetener, so they are #IQS friendly. BUT they are rather moreish - and very much a treat! #dreamingofalmonds

New recipe on the blog! Toasted Oat, Hazelnut and Cacao Granola with Rosewater. The world doesn't really need another granola recipe.  But I made this sweetener-free granola using what I had for the @eatdrinkblogau breakfast cereal photo comp, and enjoyed eating the end product so much I had to share anyway! Served here over Greek yoghurt with pomegranates, mint and an extra drizzle of rosewater.

My first recipe from #simplicious: Pretty Spring Risotto with Powerhouse Dressing, a gorgeous vegetarian lunch that packs a nutritional punch. It kicks off the start to a new challenge - to cook all 306 recipes from the book, 'Julie and Julia' style. Offal and all.  I'm doing this because I want to push the boundaries of the way I buy, cook, consume (and waste) food, for myself and my family. I'm intrigued to see how it will affect the way we live. I was recently invited by @iquitsugar to participate in a promotion for @pureharvest, to 'road-test' a mystery product - I received almond milk, and loved coming up with this healthy vegan breakfast take on the classic chocolate and orange combo. Carrot cake porridge for me and the kids this morning, made in the Thermomix: blitzed up two carrots, added ground pecans, vanilla, cinnamon, ground ginger, oats, milk of choice & water (using the EDC porridge recipe as a basis for those who have a Thermie). Topped with kefir and candied pecans (a few pecans toasted with a little rice malt syrup). The porridge needed no sweetener, thanks to the sweetness of the carrots and cinnamon. Delicious! #thermomix #sugarfree #dreamingofalmonds…

Just sat there and chomped it down. Crazy. Anyway, this was with steamed green beans and zucchini, cherry tomatoes, steamed potatoes, boiled eggs, olives and cos lettuce. Yum.  #dreamingofalmonds
