Grace and Rohan were married at Grace's parents farm and with the help of friends and family did their own florals, stationery and planning. "We also wanted to create our own ceremony that felt super personal to us as a couple, and that wasn’t boring. Grace came down the aisle to Blinded By Your Grace by Stormzy. Our celebrant and friend, India, created all of the ceremony, putting together the most personal, special and eloquent vows too! She had everyone in tears. Our ceremony was very special and the main thing people spoke about after the wedding."

Natalie and Christopher did away with cake, being separated the night before, with taking someone’s last name, and formal entrances and instead they opted to attend cocktail hour and walk in with their guests. "We had children at our wedding because we are parents ourselves, and family is the foundation to Kiribati culture. The cultural elements we incorporated into our day were also really important."
Katryce and Frank did things differently and had a Tuesday courthouse elopement. "The Marin County Civic Center checked all of our boxes for the ceremony: beautiful and practical, historic and futuristic, geometric and organic, simple and strange. We love doing drives and day trips in the Marin Headlands, so we took a few days off and made a mini-moon out of it. "

We wanted to feel relaxed, and to be able to soak in everyone’s happiness. We were, and are, so grateful for every one of our friends, family, and event staff who contributed to what was the perfect day."

I never realized that most things I don’t like about wedding culture (e.g. signs that say “Mr. & Mrs.” — you get it) are all defaults. If you want to go outside of those approaches, it takes work!"
