The Algebuckina Bridge was opened in January 1892.The bridge measures 12 metres at it's deepest point over the river bed and 578metres long, making it the longest single bridge in South Australia. The wreck of Fred's FB Holden sits on the river bank near the bridge. In 1976 Fred was trying to cross the bridge over a flooded Neales River and was pushed off by an oncoming train, Fred lived to tell his tale.
