This is an Australian bread traditionally (I am led to believe), made by people in the bush on the camp fire. I love green olives, but the black variety, although normally a little more bitter, work well too.
An Australian tradition and favourite. I prefer my Anzac biscuits in the traditional way, but adding Macadamia nuts (native to Australia) and chocolate (dear to our hearts) sounds like a tasty addition . Just technically don't call them Anzacs.
