Loolecondera Tea Estate – This was the first tea plantation in Ceylon (Sri Lanka). James Taylor renown as the “founder tea in Sri Lanka” planted the first tea bush within a 5-acre land off Kandy in 1867. The estate still produces high grown tea but requires attention. You will also get to see James Taylor’s log cabin, the well from where he extracted water and the Taylor’s Seat from where he enjoyed the view. He lived most of his life there until his death in 1892
