For this project, the children can use one to one correspondence to match the number of figures with the number noted on the paper. Having the dots color coded to match the figures in also very helpful and teaches colors.

We can read environmental print!  At the beginning of the year, this teacher asks parents to send in 10 food labels.  She then sorts them in alphabetic order and puts them in a sheet protector so she can add more as they come in!
