It might not look like much, but this is the Valley of Elah, the place where David slew Goliath. That dried river bed very well could have been where David picked up the now famous stone the killed Goliath. Just imagine being there!

When Israel finally crossed the Jordan River into Canaan, God commanded that they take a dozen stones from the riverbed, one to symbolize each tribe, and set them up in their camp on the other side “to serve as a sign among you. In the future, when your children ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’ tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. . . . These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever.”[6]
