Da Vinci - Leonardo's lost horse in Meijer Gardens - this sculpture is a reproduction of a project unrealized by the Master, whose original clay model was destroyed by troops as target practice before war. A commission that was begun but never finished, rescued from oblivion by a group coordinated by national Geographic Society. This one resides in Meijer gardens in Michigan, the only other copy is in Milan Italy.
The husband and I have declared the last few Friday nights stay-at-home date night. We build a fort and curl up with blankets and sleeping bags and watch a movie. I think this would be a lovely addition to our 'acting-like-kids' sort of night, don't you?
