xu4 tudor posy ring
High carat gold Tudor posy ring, circa 1550, with decorative flanges and floral motifs to exterior and traces of green, blue and white enamel remaining. To interior, in black enamel Roman capitals, is a posy motto in non-standardised English : Be Faythfvle [be faithful] and a decorative sprig. The ring is size I [US 4 and 1/4] and the band is 1/4 inch wide. It has a crinkle on the edge where it has been disturbed by a plough or shovel. A charming and still very wearable Tudor posy ring.
