"Putting the glamour back in morning tea." Here is Andrew Coulson, the wonderful guy who originally set up the Whose Shoes? Pinterest boards. Andrew came to an early Whose Shoes? workshop in Derbyshire and has been very supportive since. He has been very keen for Gill to bring Whose Shoes? to Australia and set up two workshops as part of the Dec 2013 tour with Kate Swaffer - one in City of Salisbury and one at the Australian Centre for Social innovation in Central Adelaide. Thank you…

A bunch of Council staff were lucky enough to get to participate in the Salisbury Christmas Parade representing the OPAL and Living Well in the Living City initiatives that we have in place at Council. We all had a great time and enjoyed interacting with the enthusiastic crowd. If you would like to read more about OPAL or LWLC we have a whole load of information on our website under the Healthy Living Section - www.salisbury.sa.gov.au/healthyliving

Congratulations to our staff at the City of Salisbury who won a Community Engagement award at the 2013 Planning Institute of Australia awards for our kerb ramp and footpath consultation. The consultation led to a complete change in the Councils policy about the future of footpaths in the area as the community said don't focus on the main hubs (shopping, transport, center) but focus on getting us to those hubs via local networks. #win #winning #award

As a precursor to the Mothers Day Classic in Adelaide, that a number of staff attended, the Council held a healthy breakfast on the Friday before to raise money for the charity. For a gold coin donation staff could have suger free pancakes, natural yoghurt and strawberrys. The Mother's Day Classic is organised by Women in Super - a national network of women working in the superannuation and finance industries. It was established to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research.
