Poseidon, the father of Nausithous, who is the father of Alcinous, or the king of Phaecia, got upset when his son kept on helping people who came to Scheria, Nausithous' island. Poseidon told his son that if he kept on aiding people, he would destroy their ships and put a mound blocking their harbor. This event occurred in the epic The Odyssey.
King Eurystheus gave Hercules a task to kill an invulnerable lion that terrorized the hills of Nemea.Hercules chocked the lion to death which was another aspect that made him a hero. As you can see in the picture adjacent to this paragraph Hercules conquered the lion and wore its skin as what could be seen as a prize or a trophy.
