Read on to discover who will be featured: Sashi Perera: Sashi is a Sri Lankan Australian comedian, writer and recovering lawyer. She was nominated as Best Newcomer at the 2023 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and featured as One to Watch on the 2021 UK Funny Women Awards. Her second solo show "Boundaries" will tour Australia and the UK through 2024.

Paola Balla is a Guest Artist for Colour Box Studio Creative Conversations
We're pleased to announce Dr Paola Balla as a guest artist for Colour Box Studio Creative Conversations, a free event series presented by Arts Centre Melbourne at The Channel 24th April 2024. Dr Paola Balla is a visual artist, curator, speaker, academic and writer. She is a Wemba-Wemba and Gunditjmara woman based at Moondani Balluk Indigenous Academic Centre, Victoria University where she works in Blak community research & teaches The Politics of Aboriginal Art, Indigenous units in the Masters of Teaching program & is Director of Creative Research Collective at Moondani Balluk. Her visual & curatorial practice is focused on Blak women’s resistance, sovereignty, self-determination and healing practices.

Read on to discover who will be featured: Esther Fwati: Esther is an emerging actor, writer and producer based in Melbourne Australia. In 2022 her Web Series NO ORDINARY LOVE Presented by Screen Australia was released to an international audience with great reception. Esther is inspired by the works of strong black female creators such as Issa Rae, Quinta Brunson and Shonda Rhimes.
Reclaiming Cultural Knowledge with Luke Currie-Richardson
Luke Currie-Richardson is a storyteller working across dance, photography, poetry and activism. He is a proud Aboriginal and Torres Strait man whose movement is strong and powerful, portraying an intensity akin to his passion for representing Mob. In this Colour Box Studio interview, Currie-Richardson discusses using art as a journal, his first leap into choreography with the Stephanie Lake Escalator Program, and the importance of keeping his work accessible to his community on social media.
