Alice was acknowledged within Dance Australia’s Critics Choice Survey as being “Most Outstanding Dancer” for her performances in the national tour of Underground in 2008.  Alice returned to Dancenorth in 2011 and works as an independent artist in Europe when not on contract to Dancenorth

Before taking up this role she was an internationally commissioned choreographer and educator. Trained in classical ballet, over an 18-year career she became one of New Zealand’s foremost dance practitioners, and successfully lead her own dance company Soapbox Productions/Raewyn Hill and Dancers from 2001 to 2009.

This explosive dance production tests the mettle of personal relationships when communities are sieged with intense experiences such as natural disasters. Created in 2011 by Dancenorth Artistic Director Raewyn Hill after an unprecedented year of natural disasters in Queensland and abroad, Mass explores the notion of community in extraordinary circumstances.

Dancenorth Artistic Director, Raewyn Hill will begin the evening by sharing a rare insight into her creative process of constructing a new work. Fugue will premier nationally at the Australian Ballet 50th Anniversary season, Let’s Dance, State Theatre, Melbourne June 2012.
