Coastal ward

Coastal ward is my electorate - the place I represent on Marion council. It covers 7.2 km of coast line and covers the suburbs of Hallett Cove, Marino and Seacliff Park. It's full of interesting people doing interesting things and I try to meet as many of them as possible. You can find more about what I'm up to at www.davidspeirs.com.au

This is the Marion Coastal Walking Trail. A unique walk way which juts up and down Marion's rugged coastline, taking people into the once inaccessible cliffs and conservation parks around Hallett Cove and Marino, South Australia.

The Marion Coastal Walking Trail, which runs from Marino to Hallett Cove, through my electorate, Coastal Ward. From the walking trail you can access some really beautiful parts of our coastline. Sometimes we see seals, dolphins and even whales from here! Check it out next time you're in the area: http://www.marion.sa.gov.au/page.aspx?u=222

'Contemplations' is a piece of artwork at the beginning of the Marion Coastal Walking Trail just off the Esplanade at Marino, South Australia. The artwork takes the form of a 'rocked boat' and marks the northern gateway to the Marion Coast Park.

I have been part of the group since it formed in June 2006.

Linwood Quarry is a massive quarry operated by Boral. It is in the heart of my electorate, lying between Marino and Hallett Cove. There's lots of issues to be managed between the quarry and the residents. Dust and vibrations affect residents' lives and we're working closely with the quarry to help overcome these challenges. We're heading in the right direction.
