The Tamar Valley is a wine producing area in Northern Tasmania. Increasingly noted for its fine cool climate wines (reds, whites and sparkling), this is an area to set aside time to explore, to taste, to dine, to wander. Autumn colours make the visuals extra special - however any time of year is a great time for vineyard visiting.

Cataract Gorge Launceston - just a short 15min walk from the edge of downtown and a total escape .. peace, green, rugged and at various times a raging torrent as a watercourse into the River Tamar. It also has the longest single span chair lift in the world across a spot known as the basin.
