We created a ruined city scape with broken masonry using plaster, a square silicone mould, skulls, small rocks and sand! It's a cost effective way for client's to have bases that create that ruined city effect we are all often striving for! The final shot shows all the bases we built on Saturday ready for some paint! We also drilled 4mm holes in the most of the 60mm bases for acrylic rod as there are lots of speeders and jetbikes in the force! Chris Paints Minis on Instagram: "How to paint: Overgrown stone slate base (Part 2) 🎨 Paint the Base 🎨 1. Prime the base with Mechanicus Standard Grey. 2. Paint the soil with AK Leather Brown. 3. Gradually mix in AK Cork, and apply it to the higher surfaces until you reach pure Cork. Use AK Burnt Umber for the shadows. 4. Wash the soil with Vallejo Dark Brown. 5. Once dry add more variation to the surface by adding pigments. I used Soil Works Dark Earth (darker areas) and Natural Soil (raised areas) for this. Vallejo Pigment Binder serves as a fixer and has amatt finish. Apply only a few pigments after it has fully dried again to the higher areas. 6. Time to paint the slate stones. I used wet blending for this to achieve smooth gradients and great results fast. Blend Skavenblight

A detailed step by step tutorial on how to build and paint bases for Beastmen 🐐. 🔽 Detailed Description 🔽 The idea of the base was heavily influenced by the awesome bases from @jp_miniatures and the forested labyrinths or underhollows from the Warhammer video game series. 🚧 Build & paint Beastmen Bases 🚧 1. For the ground texture i mixed dried coffee ground, grinded herbs, fine sand, fine grinded cork, sawdust, natron, pva & water. Mix it until you have a good consistency and paste like structure.
