Julia Gillard, Former PM of Australia

Julia Gillard was Australia's first female Prime Minister until a leadership spill in the Australian Labor Party saw her ousted on the night of 26 June 2013. This board is dedicated to her triumphs and tribulations in office. I should have done this months ago, not that it would have had any impact on the events of last night.

Indeed, it is a very shameful point in history. I knew there'd be backlash against a woman as PM, but I doubt anyone could have foreseen the extent and depravity of the vitriol. Throughout it all, she has stood firm, with a smile on her face, maintained her dignity and achieved a record number of acts passed whilst governing with a minority government. Love her or loathe her, you can't but greatly admire her.
