Robert Gallery | Gallery played as a left tackle for the Hawkeyes from 1999-2003. In 2002 Gallery helped lead the team to their first Big Ten title in 12 years and their first undefeated conference season 80 years. In 2003 Gallery was named first team All-American and awarded the Outland Trophy. During the 2004 NFL Draft Gallery was the second overall pick by the Oakland Raiders. He retired from professional football in 2012 after playing for the Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks.

Bob Sanders | Sanders played defensive back for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 2000 to 2003. He ranks seventh in career tackles with 348. In 2001 Sanders had 25 tackles in a game against Indiana, which is the fourth best single game total at Iowa. Sanders also led the nation in forced fumbles and led the Big Ten in recovered fumbles. In his senior year at Iowa Sanders was named second team All-American. Sanders was the 44th overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, he went to the Indianapolis Colts.

Smith was selected as the 18th pick in the 1st round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. He had a successful rookie season with 30 tackles and 7.5 sacks. In 2005 he had 48 tackles and 8.5 sacks and played well enough that the Saints did not re-sign Darren Howard thus making Smith the starter opposite Charles Grant for the 2006 season.
