Lincoln Museum in Springfield, Illinois.  Been there several times..a must see :)

Lincoln Museum in Springfield, Illinois. I would love to go there.Richard Norton Smith, noted historian, was in charge when the museum first came to be in existence. He did a brilliant job.

I saw these items at the Abraham Lincoln Museum in Springfield, Ill. This is probably one of his hats. He often stored important documents under there and, "fished" them out when he needed them.

Lincoln suit & hat:: Sometimes Abraham Lincoln's stovepipe hat was called was his "desk and memorandum book" and also sometimes his "filing cabinet". This was because he kept mail, his bankbook, important papers, etc.
