Alaska National Parks by Rail, Alaska Railroad Six-day train trip. The route takes in the jagged peaks, lonely forest and rugged coastline, including a stop at the base of 20,320-foot Mount McKinley, North America’s tallest mountain. Though the train has comfortable seating and a luxe dining car, nights are spent at off-train lodging like the Grande Denali Lodge and Hotel Alyeska in Girdwood.
Skagway, Alaska, USA - I am always saying how i would give anything to travel across the world by train, and maybe i am boring, but here it is again. I would give anything to travel Alaska and to see the landscapes by train. To experience its wilderness to the core, can only be done if you are following the rail road. Maybe this summer my wish will come true, if i am done with my work on the East cost i will definitely fly up to Alaska and do the trip. Dragan Tapshanov - 07/02/2014
