In grade school we learned how to write in cursive. I liked learning it because it was a faster way to write but it's also hard when you're new at it to understand what you've written later when you tried to read it again. I enjoyed cursive writing and learning it what I didn't like was the teacher making you do all your work in cursive over the next couple years. It is a skill that I now appreciate because of how often I have to sign my name and it makes my note taking a lot easier.

I put these in each student's morning work folders, and using the star as a starting place....students follow the arrows with their finger while quietly saying the name of the letter. Then repeating (looking at the picture if needed), saying the letter's sound or "a is for alligator...a-a-a" These are also laminated and in a center with dry erase pens.I hope this helps your student's in some way.
