For more than 200 years tribal farmers of the north-eastern part of India, in the state of Megalaya, have been using an indigenous technique of bamboo drip irrigation to irrigate their plantation crops.
People love gardens and one of the biggest uses of water goes to irrigation. Over in Asian people have rock gardens which is pretty in itself but also keeps irrigation down to a minimum. However, big gardens like the picture on the bottom of this pin need lots of water. Even if we used drip irrigation it would use still a lot to just keep it at the luscious green look it has now. A stone garden would help save water and it would still be a beautiful sight to look at.
