This most popular—and most faked—painted helmet of the Vietnam War is probably the ARVN Ranger helmet. Whereas an original helmet would be a collection centerpiece, original photos of soldiers wearing the helmets provide the collector with a relatively safe alternative to the risk involved in acquiring an actual painted helmet.
