Tebe Tasi (Sea Dance, in Tetun language) is a film by David Palazón performed by dancer Colleen Coy at the pier in Com, Lospalos (Timor-Leste) in November 2011. The music was composed by the leading East Timorese composer Simão Barreto. Tebe Tasi is a visual interpretation of ‘Itinerary for a landscape, a symphonic poem’ performed by the Orquestra Sinfónica de Radiodifusão Portuguesa, and recorded from a radio broadcasting in 1983 for the album ‘Symphonic Works’ by Simão Barreto.
Papagaiu (Kite in Tetun language) is a short film by Victor de Sousa, produced by David Palazón and shot at Tasitolu beach in Dili (Timor-Leste). The film depicts two young boys recycling waste from the beach to build the kites they play with during the windy August afternoons. The film’s soundtrack Bom fazer (doing good) from the album Casa de Boa Vida, was generously provided by our friends Anje & Kim, better known as The View from Madeleine’s Couch.
