Ina Garten's secret to perfect hard boiled eggs every single time! No overcooked yolks with green on them. Put Cold water and cold eggs in a pot. burners on on high heat, watch carefully, as soon as it gets to a rolling boil, turn off the burner, cover and let sit for 5 minutes. Take eggs out of water and let sit for another 2 minutes. Then immediately either peel them or shock them in cold water. It's best to use eggs about a week old so they peel easier.
