Growing up race was something that was not talked about in my household. I was never sure how my parents felt about this topic when I was in my early teens. About when I was 16 I finally l finally had to ask my parents and I learned that it was never frowned upon with them, but rather they just never saw it as anything to need to talk about do to them not noticing a difference through skin tones.
My love for black and white photography has always been constant but my ability to create one the way I wanted was not. With time, experience and learning I have been able to create black and whites that are strong and often my favorites.
