In 1968, two boys playing in a deserted and rat-infested tenement found the body of a 31yo drug addict, surrounded by religious pamphlets and empty beer bottles. Not until 19 months later was the body identified as that of child actor Bobby Driscoll, Academy Award winner and voice of Peter Pan. He was a Lost Boy after all.
Robert Cletus "Bobby" Driscoll was an American child actor known for a large body of cinema and TV performances from 1943 to 1960, plus he served as animation model and provided the voice for Disney's Peter Pan. In the mid-1950s, Driscoll's acting career began to decline. He became addicted to drugs and was sentenced to prison. After his release he focused his attention on the avant-garde art scene. In ill health from his drug use, and his funds completely depleted, he died at age 31.
Bobby Driscoll, the voice of Peter Pan. His story is tragic. He was a child star, and afterwards, other kids made fun of him, he became a drug addict by 17, and he died at 31:( I love this movie, and this was depressing and kind of ruined my childhood. I still love Peter Pan no matter what though.
