Prime Rib - Made this for New Years Eve dinner party. Absolutely perfect results. I used an digital internal [external part sits on countertop] OXO thermometer. 500 degrees 25 minutes, 300 degrees for about 45 minutes and then bumped the temp up to 325 to finish. Definitely takes longer than 20-30 minutes at 300 for a 4 rib roast. Plan and use a thermometer!
Paula's Famous Foolproof Standing Rib Roast Pretty close to my recipe Room temp roast Rub with salt pepper and garlic powder Roast at 425 for 1 hour Turn the oven off and let it sit for an additional 3 hours.
The Closed-Oven Method for Perfect Prime Rib Roast
This is the EASIEST way to make a roast. I did this last year and it was the tastiest prime rib EVER. The key is to multiply the weight of your roast by five (4lb x 5 = 20). Use that number to roast at 500 degrees and then TURN OFF THE OVEN and walk away!
