Photo of the Week - Barmouth Bridge  My Mum's distant relatives built this viaduct back in the 1860s so it's a great place to visit. I am not 100 % sure of the following so please correct me if I am wrong… The Spanish had plans for the Santa Cruz Bridge and had completed this landing before discontinuing because of unrest in the country.  When the Americans took control from Spain they bought the bridge the Spanish had intended to buy and completed the project.  This abutment was changed or imbedded in steel reinforced concrete by the Americans. The bridge was opened on March 1, 1902  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_...

The Patapat Viaduct is a viaduct at the municipality of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, a coastal resort town on the northernmost tip of Luzon Island in the Philippines. The bridge is elevated 31 meters over sea level. It is a concrete coastal bridge 1.3 km long and connects the Maharlika Highway from Laoag, Ilocos Norte to the Cagayan Valley Region.
