For the longest time I thought these birds never left the ground, but I finally found a food they will get airborne for.

A pair of Brown Thrashers have been providing endless entertainment in the back yard! Babies soon? /HOW TO ATTRACT ME TO YOUR HABITAT: Plant Azalea Shrub (important during migration) or Wild Gooseberry Shrub. Plant Ageratum Flower or Cannas. For groundcover plant Hostas or Poly Poly Ferns. For trees plant Honey Locust or Cherry Eleganace. I like Cati fruit. EXTRA TREATS: Cooked Pasta or Ants.

Brown Thrasher foraging. We have a pair in our backyard, and one has a strange thing sticking out almost like something is riding on its back, but we suspect it is a broken part of his wing or something. He can fly and run just fine!
