This is my favorite picture in this whole project because it is a anti bully image. I am completely 100% against bullying. I was bullied almost my whole life in school from elementary up until my sophomore year in high school because of my weight. I was depressed and sad and often didn't want to go to school because of the way some the other students would talk to me. The bullying only stopped or at least didn't affect me anymore was all because I met a girl named Maria.
We recently added a Bully Box to a corner in the library. Students can anonymously (or otherwise) place a note in this box explaining a bully situation they witnessed or experienced. Ever since we installed the box it has been used regularly by student who would otherwise not say anything about bullying situations. We read the note they pass it on to our Counsellor.
We're continuing to highlight the great work by students at Carlsbad High School in their efforts to combat bullying. Here's another poster from their "Words Hurt" campaign. And be sure to read more about the student movement on our blog: http://www.niot.org/blog/part-solution-carlsbad-high%E2%80%99s-words-hurt-campaign
