The old Point Reyes lighthouse is about 1 hr north of San Francisco, CA near the epicenter of the big 1906 earthquake that almost completely destroyed San Francisco (during that earthquake, the lighthouse moved ~18 feet north, more than the widening of the Japanese main island caused by the recent earthquake).
