The ICARUS is the first portable sundial which you can adjust for our modern, time-zone-regulated time. You can read off Central European Time (CET) or the standard time in any other time zone in the world. It will also display summer time (daylight saving time), as frequently used in various parts of the world.

Frustrated!!!! I 've got 17 entrees to this give-away up until now. (Of which only about 9 are "real entrees" not posted on profiles that are actually made to join give-aways) With over 300 likes... I feel like I am gathering friends for a BBQ and they enthusiastically show up but once the burgers are ready everybody goes: "nah I am a vegan". So could anybody tell me what's up? Is the prize not interesting enough for the effort it requires? Are my paintings to hideous to soil your profile?…

TIL that France used to be on the same time zone as Britain but during the German occupation the time zone was changed to Central European Time and remains unchanged.

Those islanders who stayed suffered extreme deprivation. The hostile Nazi command was intent on imposing its way of life on the Islands. The private use of cars, for instance, was banned and the best vehicles were quickly requisitioned by the Germans. As a consequence, the islanders' were limited to bicycles and walking. Villages and towns were given German names, clocks were set to Central European time and social groups could only meet by permission of the German High Command.
