1912 Cartercar Model R Roadster - Cartercar was a U.S. make manufactured from 1905-1915. This car had a 4160cc 4 cylinder engine w/ single chain drive & a friction drive transmission. Byron Carter died in 1908 when the crank kicked back and hit him in the jaw, causing gangrene and eventual death. Byron's death prompted his good friend, Henry Leland of Cadillac, to develop the self-starter that was introduced in 1912.
1899 Nesselforf 2 seater President - A coach and cart manufacturer that started in 1849 became Austro-Hungary's first automobile manufacturer in 1897 through Hugo Fischer and Baron von Liebig. The President was it's first car and this model is powered by a 5 hp Benz flat-twin engine w/ chain drive to the rear axle. The company changed its name to Tatra in 1919 and continued to make cars until 1999. Tatra then concentrated on truck manufacture which continues today.
