The US Coast Guard Cutter Tamaroa. This is the Cutter made famous by the movie "The Perfect Storm". A working Rescue Cutter she was originally USS Zuni (AT/ATF-95 USN) a seagoing tug that saw extensive use in the Pacific during WW2. She was "Combat Hardened". The Naval Ship Zuni was turned over to the US Coast Guard in 1946, starting a second career as a Maritime Life Saver.

US Coast Guard Squadron Three Cutter Half Moon provides Naval Gunfire Support to US Army Americal units in land from the coast. These barrier patrol Cutters provided Harassment and Interdiction combat patrols along the deep water coast in support of the smaller cutters and swift boats that worked the shoreline, bays, and rivers of South Vietnam.
