White-nosed Coati ~ Coatimundi Pizote (Nasua narica) a species of coati and member of the family Procyonidae. Averaging about 8.8-13.2 lbs, males are much larger than females who may weigh as little as 5.5 lbs while large males may be 27 lbs. Body length about 43", half of that being tail. They eat small vertebrates, fruits, carrion, insects, and eggs. They can climb trees easily but are most often seen on the ground, and (unlike nocturnal raccoons) in the daytime.
