Coriander is a pretty under-utilized and even unknown spice in many contemporary American kitchens.  It adds zest without heat and gives tremendous body to other spices. It works well in everything from the onions you're grilling up for your brats to your homemade curry powder to your latest  experiment with Caribbean flavor.  Don't add it too early in the cooking process, though, or it will become bitter.  Also, don't buy too much.  It loses flavor a bit more rapidly than some other spices.

For the backsplash I went classic with a simple 2″ x 4″ subway tile. I used American Olean White Mosaic Subway Wall tiles  with “Pewter” grout also available through Lowe’s here.
