Contemporary Jazz

Fourplay American contemporary jazz quartet. The original members of the group were Bob James (keyboards), Lee Ritenour (guitars), Nathan East (bass), and Harvey Mason (drums).In 1997, Lee Ritenour left and Fourplay chose Larry Carlton as his replacement. In 2010, Larry Carlton left Fourplay and was replaced by Chuck Loeb.Grammy-nominated Fourplay has enjoyed consistent artistic and commercial success by grafting elements of R and pop to their unwavering jazz foundations.


GRAMMY® Award winner, Smooth Jazz artist Norman Brown, one of the world's GREAT guitar players is on close intimate terms with his audience. Clifford Brown. After touring with Lionel Hampton's big band, Brown joined Art Blakey briefly and later formed his own quintet with Max Roach. The quintet was quickly recognized as one of the outstanding groups in contemporary jazz and Brown as a major trumpeter and composer. Although his career was brief, Brown's influence persisted for a while in the work of Lee Morgan and throughout succeeding decades in that of Freddie Hubbard.


Eric Darius ~ Smooth Jazz Saxophonist,Composer.He is a native of New Jersey who grew up in Tampa, Florida.Darius began his performing career at the age of 11 when he toured with the youth-based Sonny LaRosa and America's Youngest Jazz Band.The tour's final performance was held at Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. At the age of 17 Darius released his first album titled Cruisin'.Darius is described as “contemporary jazz artist with a twist” who plays his horns“with unrestrained…

Bob James is a Grammy Award winning Jazz Legend who has been called the "Godfather" of Smooth Jazz. His award winning song "Angela" was the title song for the hit TV Show Taxi and he has performed around the world bringing his unique style and composition. Bob is also considered one of the great "cross-over" artists, having his music played on radio of a variety of genre's. Bob is currently the band leader of the Grammy award winning super group Fourplay, in addition to his solo work.
