Most young Australians do not know how to cook. They also can not afford to go to restaurants. Even though the market is flooded with cook books I found it incredibly difficult to afford the ingredients. Which book to buy. That is the question.
Still my favourite cookbook but must say mine looks nothing like this. It is over 20 years old and I am happy to admit mine is well thumbed, covered in stains and the spine is broken. However I will not be replacing it it means far too much to me.
"The Wild Table: Seasonal Foraged Food and Recipes" features more than 40 wild mushrooms, plants, and berries. Grouped by season, the recipes provide step-by-step cooking techniques, explain how to find and prepare each ingredient, and feature several signature dishes from noted chefs. Check out an excerpt from this book on 9 fundamentals or "commandments" of wild food foraging.
