St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City - If you get the opportunity to walk to the top of the basilica, to the cupola, it is definitely worth the trip. There's a lot of climbing, and it is narrow, so take heed if you're claustrophobic or afraid of heights. But if you can make it to the top it is absolutely worth it!
The Reichstag is the parliament building. Tours are free but have to be booked in advance. Beat the queues by booking breakfast in the rooftop restaurant. We booked for 9.30am and got there at 8.30am to have a look round and walk up the Cupola. €28.50 for the feel good breakfast. There was so much we couldn't finish it. Definitely lived up to its name!
Bloomingdale's Home Store, Chicago | Idea #12: Dome - The orthodox cupolas ("onion domes") on this Bloomingdale's really blew me away. The building had to have had a greater purpose in the past. I feel like a department store would never build a dome feature from scratch, but existing domes definitely convey the status and luxury that they want to be known for.
