Dave Brubeck - jazz great and pioneer in integrating jazz. He worked with black musicians even when his own gigs were cancelled for it but refused to allow segregation to stop him from including black band members.
Dave Brubeck, born in Concord, California, died one day short of his 92nd birthday (12-6-1920--12-5-2012) Thanks for decades of great music, including 1959's Take Five, the first jazz single to go Gold from Time Out, which went Platinum.
Dave Brubeck You will be missed by us all. A great jazz pianist and a fabulous composer at 91 he was still a hero of mine. Thank you for everything you have taught this world and your work will never be forgotten. David Brubeck.
