Decimal Place Value Anchor Chart - I used this idea and edited it slightly by having the students use grid paper to create squares 10cm by 10cm. We subdivided them to drive home that the more you "cut" a shape the smaller the pieces are, something that is more abstract for students to grasp.
The Decimal Place Value Chart is a great tool for students to practice reading, writing, and comparing decimals. The chart ranges from the millions place to the millionths place. It includes spaces for 20 numbers.
This would be great for journals. I love how it is color coded and the lines connect to the corresponding value on the other side of the decimal. Another visual reminder that there is no "oneths" place. :)
