On every July 4th, we take time to read the Declaration of Independence out loud.  Each person who comes to the party (even the kids who can read!) is given a slip of paper with part of the Declaration or the names of some signers and we read it together as a group.  It's very powerful tradition and a reminder of why our country is independent.
