Kitty Sabatier- "Jazz vision is the fusion of music and art a real paradox of same-yet different. Here we play in exchanges, like the hardness of the key of c# major and from the softness of Db major - capturing, reflecting and improvising." Barbara Januszkiewicz
The eye can only sense when light makes contact with it, after being reflected off an object, so it has to bounce off something. Darkness is the term given to the absence of light, so how can light be reflected off absence? Even the color black is something the eye can perceive. You cannot see darkness, this is because darkness is used in the sense of evil, deception, hate, qualities which are impossible to see, because they are not physical objects, but have to be experienced to be known.
David Foster Wallace: [W]e’d probably most of us agree that these are dark times, and stupid ones, but do we need fiction that does nothing but dramatize how dark and stupid it is? In dark times, the definition of good art would seem to be art that locates and applies CPR to those elements of what’s human and magical that still live and glow despite the times’ darkness.
